Hello,

I have a desktop:
CPU: P4 – 2.8Ghz
RAM: 1GB
Video card: Nvidia 64M

When I boot my machine with Ubuntu 10.10/11.04 CD, the screen goes black after selecting language. So I can't do anything else to install or to check for problem.

Is there any solution for this issue?

Thank you so much!

Edit: oh, think this is related to Nvidia card so I posted in 'Hardware & Laptops' forum, please move to 'Installation and Upgrade' if I posted in wrong forum. Thanks! :)

Hi,
you can try using the nomodeset option:

I have the same video card. Nomodeset will get you started. Installation can be a pain with this card, but it can be done. Lots of help in the forums. Have fun:)
