G'day everyone,

I'm about halfway through ripping my CD's into MP3's and I'm wondering what people use to manage their collection?

I've seen a few around, but they all require PHP, Apache, and.or mySQL. I'm not a complete newb, but I have no idea what these packages are, let alone how to install, run, and why I even need them?

If anyone has a good HOWTO, or if there are standalone packages available, I'd love to know what they are..

Chees - in anticpation,

Marty

Hi Marty,

Please consider ripping ripping your CDs into Ogg Vorbis instead. It's a free format, unlike Mp3, and it's also a better format (in tests it scores about the same as WMA and AAC).

Ubuntu comes with RhythmBox. Other applications that are popular are Amarok, Banshee, Muine, Qoud Libet, Listen and JuK.

I ripped all my music to ogg vorbis and the best application to manage them is Gmusicbrowser.
