I don't know if there's a way but you can use 'ctrl_alt_d' to show desktop. Change it using compiz/general option/key bindings.

There is a simpler solution. install ccsm, which will install simple ccsm as well. Go to simple ccsm, edges tab, and choose a corner which you can use as the show desktop prompt. YOu just put the mouse in the corner and voila.

11.04 uses a new desktop (which im sure youve noticed, lol) its called the 'Unity Desktop'. The feature in which you are referring, is part of the previous 'Gnome Desktop'. Im also looking for a way to add a shortcut, maybe to Unity's sidebar launcher. I feel like maybe there's a program tucked away somewhere that when run, gets that specific job done. (kind of the way microshit has a "show desktop" program, somewhere in their windoze folder). BUT, who knows...not i. Ctrl+Alt+D is what im using now. Thanks to whom ever posted that reply! :P :) have a nice day!
