Hey guys, I spent a couple of hours today and made this. There are 4 different sizes but also I added a transparent PNG so you can add your own background if you wish, or even edit the text if you want to remove it. Anyways hope you guys like it. :)

Check Page 2 (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=1005167#post1005167) for a better more traditional window version using [+] frame.

Hey that's good! I like the transparent one. Transparent ones look great with different background colours.

It'd be great if you make the window look more like a window, I think it looks a bit like a door, even though I know it's not. Better yet, could you make it look like the Windows logo? That would be really cool.

I appreciate the positive posts, not at this time it will take too much work to make it look any different. Adding a Windows logo isn’t too hard but to be honest I really don’t know what the purpose of it would be? The point is that Windows is closed source, the window is open and when the window is open you see the alternative. Open source and this case Ubuntu. Sorry if I cannot fulfill your request, but you are free to edit it yourself from the PNG if you wish.

I meant keep it exactly the same as you have now, except instead of a rectangular window, have a Windows window.

Doesn't matter. It still looks good. I doubt I have the skill to edit it.

I see what you mean, the problem is that everything is made on a seperate layer in a very odd way because of the way I made it so it would take a lot longer for me to resize the window or to add a [+] frame. At this time I won't be doing it, but thanks for the suggestion. It's not a common window I know, maybe I should of based it on something more traditional, oh well.

Please don't take it to mean I think it needs improving. It looks great as it stands. I just thought it would be a cute twist. Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys, well I decided to remake it based on some suggestions. First is a transparent PNG second is JPEG, both 1600x1200. Enjoy.

The idea is friggin' great!! But the window doesn't look like one too much :) You could look at a real window.

Yeah the window isn't based on anything so it's kinda odd.

GREAT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!8)

Agreed the thing I LOVE about Ubuntu is it's nothing like Windows.

Even though I don't use Wind:twisted: ws anymore.
The LAST THING I want is to be reminded that the Friggn OS even exist.

But at the Sametime THANKS for allowing others the OP to change it as they see fit.
This attitude shows What Ubuntu and Open Sorce is all about.:KS
