View Full Version : [ubuntu] Acer Aspire One 522 linux support

It's just me or we still don't have full linux support for the AMD c-50 processor?

There is no cpufreq on /sys

Can't control LCD brightness from linux

lm_sensors report nothing, no temperature, no fan speed
btw gkrellm will show temperatures (don't understand how)

sound support is broken
wireless make lots of system freezes

Do you have solution for those problems?
I suppose we will get better support in the future, let's hope!

There are already several threads on the acer 522, perhaps Mods could merge this with those?

Also, lmsensors works great for me... have you updated your bios? you should be at version 1.07

sensors detect k10temp, but then it says that no sensors detected

Not trying to sound condescending but it's good practice to shop for Ubuntu compatible hardware and not the other way around, if you plan on running linux. Did you try running the livecd to see how it worked before you installed? If so, how was your experience with that?

Try 11.04 you shouldn't have any problems.
