Hey there,

I recently updated Ubuntu 10.10 on my Asus eeePC 1001PX to the Natty Narwhal Beta but now when I log in everything freezes, I just see my wallpaper and the mouse pointer (which seems to lag or doesn't move at all), at first I thought this was maybe just updating things but I left it for a few hours and it did nothing. I then logged into Ubuntu Traditional(?) desktop (I'm not sure if this is the English name) and it was the same. Next I logged into safe mode and things worked but I really couldn't do anything.

Can anyone please help?

clean install is the best, theres to many changes for an upgrade.
the left over stuff screws up natty/unity, the old settings don't work with the new settings.

if you can get in there, you could try removing the settings folders, then the new 1's will replace them. i think removing .config, .gconfig & .gnome2
