I am trying to connect a new Oregon Scientific RMS300a thermometer and humidity meter to my Ubuntu workstation. The included software is Windows-only but there's an open-source driver to read the 'state' and record it text-file,

The problem is that you first need to install the user-state USB driver, libhid, and I can't figure-out where to get it. Is the problem that it's not available for Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit ?

P.S. I just found a blog post talking about this exact same application but it doesn't give any specifics about 'libhid'

Did you ever find a solution? I am in the exact same boat. Had this working in 10.04, but since have upgraded, and can't seem to get it working.
