View Full Version : [ubuntu] LiveCDs fail on Averatec 3715-EH1

Currently running Ubuntu 9.10 on Averatec 3715-EH1. Due to end-of-life for 9.10, I want to upgrade. I strongly prefer to see a LiveCD work before committing to wipe the current disk. Previously ran 8.04 on this machine, and the 8.04 LiveCD worked. 8.10 LiveCD would not produce a graphical screen for login, nor would 9.04, but 9.10 worked, so I went with 9.10. Since installing 9.10, I have tried 10.04, 10.10, and 11.04 (beta), but none of those will produce a graphical screen for login.

There are a dozen ways I can go about trying to resolve this, _IF_ I am willing to kill off the current 9.10 install and work with the native hard disk. But I really would prefer to see a LiveCD work.

Does anybody have any ideas?
