View Full Version : [ubuntu] [URGENT!!] Sound not working! [PLEASE HELP ASAP]

I have a Compaq Altec Lansing and I just installed Ubuntu (latest version from April 14, 2011) and the sound is not working. I have Google'd this problem and a lot of people are having this problem. Please add me on msn if you want any info. I doubt I will check this site very ofter but please do post if you can help!!

I'm begging I need some help on this. Thank you sooo much!

You've got to be more specific.

I'll try a generic answer: Do you see the Sound icon on the top bar?
If the above answer is positive, try right-clicking it, going on Sound Preferences and then on the "Hardware" tab. If possible, keep changing the profiles 'till you find one that works.

Ok, what information do you need?
I actually uninstalled it so I can reinstall and give you info. But I have tried everything. I am pretty sure it's the drivers. Is there a place or code to install the correct drivers?
