I realize this may not be an appropriate place to ask this question, but I need to make a decision. I want to get a new laptop and I can not decide whether to get a System76 Lemur or a new Apple MacBook Pro.

I really like Linux and like the idea of System76 supporting Linux, but at the same time I've always wanted to own a Mac. If I got the Mac, I'm sure I would stick with OS X.

I'm not really a fan of Apple in general. And I really like the looks of the System76 laptops. I would go with the Lemur unless you need OSX for something. And you can always wipe OSX off of your MacBook if you ever want to go to some Linux disto.

You're looking to spend about twice what I would at least but my two sense worth is this. You can upgrade on nearly everything including the 500GB 7200rpm SATA Hybrid Hard Drive with 4GB SSD and even spring for the tech support with System 76 for about the same price. The CPU would be lesser though.
