Hey guys,

I need to know how to change the filesystem for a USB flash drive using the terminal (I tried gparted and that didn't work).

Whenever I put my usb stick in it says it cannot mount the volume because it doesn't recognise the file system...

So is there any way I can format and change the filesystem via command-line?

Thanks

Let's step back one. There should be no reason why Gparted cannot reformat the partition on your USB flash drive, unless the flash drive is dying. What exactly happened when you tried to use Gparted? What error message did you get?
