Hello fourm,

Okay so to make a long story short, I'm in a serious need to recover files that were accidentally deleted from my Canon digital camera's compact flash memory just now. So I researched a bit and discovered the testdisk/photorec app, downloaded/installed it, but when I went to use it, the program only recognized my hard drive as /sda but not my camera's CF memory (yes it was plugged in, turned on, and automounted). I also don't see my camera when I run the fdisk -l command in terminal, though I see a Canon labled device when I run the lsusb.

I'm assuming that in order to recover my files using photorec that I need to first manually mount my camera as a filesystem like /sdb1 or something. Would that be correct? And if so, could someone please explain to me how to do this, because despite how much I've poked around on the forums already, I can't seem to figure this out.

Thanks!
