I've been installing natty on my hp dv3 notebook which comes with switchable graphics card ATI Intel.
I've done the installation with the charger pluged in, i've rebooted after updates. Then i tried to use the notebook not connected to the charger.
The grub menu displays correctely but after that the screen becomes black.
Is there any way to fix this without using the nomodeset option in the grub? since doing that disables the unity desktop.

Thanks in advance.

If I boot without the charger pluged in using nomodeset and then restart ubuntu works correctely. If I shutdown and then restart it won't work.
