Thanks to the Ubuntu comunity, my intel 855 laptop (Gateway M275) can now run compiz and smothly. :)
however when unity is activated,
1: i get the side menu and it looks okay,
2: when i point at a icon the screen flickers for 1 seccond than recovers but it looks like X (unity) must refresh.
I don't yet understand X yet enough to figure out why.
