Buying a Laptop with Keyboard Backlighting. What do you say?

Hello!

I am planning to purchase the Sony Viao VPCCB15FG/B Laptop (http://www.sony.co.in/product/vpccb15fg/sku/vpccb15fg_b+e1).

I am a bit concerned about 2 things:

1) Will the keyboard back-lighting work with 64 bit Ubuntu? Will the keyboard respond to the light sensor?

2) It has 2 graphic cards that switch based on load. Can I choose which graphic card to use?
