Looking for clear instructions for configuring TOR

I have recently moved back to Ubuntu from Fedora due to issues with my particular machine. I was just wondering where I could find a set of comprehensive, crystal clear instructions on properly configuring TOR with Polipo.

Any ideas help.

Me too! I've set up several systems with Tor over the years, and none of them worked without Googling and tinkering.
