before I installed Ubuntun 10.10 (from a USB stick) onto my Thinkpad laptop, I thought I would test it out from the USB Stick.

This laptop's specs are showing Pentium III 800Mhz (though on the next line it says 527Mhz) 384M Ram.

Feeble I know. that's why I was going to Ubuntu it.

The Run from USB Stick goes through the motions and then seems to stall out on the screen with UBUNTU and the 5 little dots going back and forth.

I tried this USB Stick on another laptop (even more feeble - it is a true 500 or so Mhz) and it seemed to Test Install fine.

Can anyone suggest a reason why the Test Install should fail on the Thinkpad? and what I can do to test it out?

I do not know if it will install a not, bit it will be a pain to use as I do not think that the system will be fast enough. There are other Linux distros that will run flawlessly on that computer, such as Puppy Linux or an LXDE version of Ubuntu( maybe, not sure ).
