Looking to see if people are more likely to choose apt-get or aptitude for getting software onto a server.

A little background. I work for a company that creates imaging software for medical x-rays and we currently use a ghost which has RedHat EL on it. Problem being is that the kernel is too old to support many of the hardware features of the servers (IBM E-series). I am attempting to recreate our sever using ubuntu, and need a solid way to update and upgrade, install software. I've read a few posts that bring up some questions with apt-get, and I would like to know the opinion of the ubuntu forums users.

Thanks. :D

Have you read this thread (http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=164082)?

No I didn't. Perhaps I should have searched a little more in depth. I'm reading it now. Thanks aysiu.

Thanks again aysiu, looks like aptitude is the way to go for the server.
