View Full Version : chrome using 91% CPU?

Hey...
I ran the top command in the terminal to find why ubuntu started to run slower.. everything was fine, with 2% CPU at most, but at the top was Google Chrome with 91% CPU usage... How could that be true? Isn't chrome supposed to be lightweight?

No, Chrome is fast, but not light (hardly any major browsers are that).

Have you tried adding Flashblock?

What kind of things were loaded on Chrome. Chrome starts a new PID for every tab, so all that had to be on one page. Sounds like something went very wrong.

For comparison's sake, I have three tabs open right now, and the highest one is at 6.5% which I assume is the one running Pandora.
