I have an EasyCAP USB 2.0 video capture card, which is supposed to capture analogue video & sound from an outside source through RCA or s-video connectors, but I do not know how to get it to work with Xubuntu. It shows up as 2 devices in the Mixer drop-down menu (see screen shot), but I cannot access it using Cheese or the Video4Linux control panel, and when I try to record audio from it with Audacity, nothing happens.

I am using Xubuntu 10.10 on an HP G60-443CL notebook PC.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is a long thread about the EasyCAP device on an Ubuntu forum at:

Okay, I remember looking at the first part of that before, getting frustrated, & giving up after a while. I'll try again.
