Exult audio problem. (Ultima VII)

hi all.

I am having problems getting any sounds to play in Ultima VII playing in Exult from the reps. this is an Ubuntu 5.10 machine.

I know I got this working several times in the past but either I am getting too old to remember stuff like this or the ever changing audio-subsystem-configurations from one Ubuntu release to the next change the process somewhat.

anybody out there to tell me exactly what to do (what audio system [ESD/OSS/ALSA], ~/.exult.cfg, setting in Exult). "Black Gate" and "Serpent Isle" are otherwide set up correctly.

I cant avoid this sound icon crossed with red line

How to enable the sound ? I tried all the midi modes in setup menu that you can see in this scrreenshoot...

I managed to get sound to work. If anyone else has this problem, I put in on my blog.
