I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 with an HDA Nvidia card with Realtek ALC662 rev1 chip.

I have 4 speakers and a subwoofer, but I can only get sound out of the front speakers.
I'm aware of the fix where you edit /etc/pulse/daemon.conf, but my situation is a little weird. My sound card has a line-out, a mic, and a line-in. The way the speaker setup works (theoretically) is that the line out carries the front speakers' sound to the subwoofer, the line-in becomes a line-out and carriers the rear speakers' sound, and the subwoofer then splits those inputs and other outputs on the subwooofer carry the signals to their final destinations. There is no dedicated subwoofer channel (it just does a pass over the input and handles the lower frequencies), and no center speaker. In windows this setup works fine, because I can use a realtek gui to tell it that the line-in is actually a line-out. Is there any way to do this in ubuntu? I've searched the forums but couldn't find anything that helped.

Thanks in advance for any help.
