View Full Version : [ubuntu] Good torrents software

Hey, i know this question comes up all the time but softwares moving fast so currently what good torrent software is everyone using at the moment, i want to support linux by seeding distro realeases regularly. Transmission is great to download with but as soon as i load it firefox slows right down to a crawl. apparently its a common problem.

I use deluge... it's beautiful. I also use the web UI which is beautiful.... AND use it headless , on a box of mine. amazing.

thanks i will try it, i just tried vuze, its very good and offers a lot of options but the interface and general gnome integration is poor

im a fan of deluge too, especially headless. i think you can do that with transmission too though, and id be very surprised if you cant limit the upload bandwidth on transmission.

I like rtorrent for dedicated installs, and deluge for quick GUI downloads.

Yes you can indeed, just right click the download and set your d/l speed.

is there an official torrent for 11.01 alpha/beta, i cant find it

haha, maybe i should look for 11.04, DOH!
