Hi
I've just installed ubuntu 10.10 x86_64, and updated it to 2.6.35-25 kernel.
When I added to panels sensor applet I noticed very high temperature of my GPU. When nothing is running in background it goes to 66C.
I tried the latest drivers and 173, but both give the same result.

Any clue?

Nope. They were cleaned about week ago.

Opera consume about 60% of CPU and probably it makes it heats, but GPU starts gaining temperature after plugging laptop to AC. I was trying to mess up with PowerMizer and I did it like they said here:

PowerMizer on laptops (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/How_to_install_NVIDIA_driver#Forcing_Powermizer_pe rformance_level_.28for_laptops.29)
Those temperatures stops on about 70C so maybe it is not very high but it makes my fans goes faster and louder.
Any chances its fault of Xorg or compiz?
