Dear all

I seem to be generating an increasingly long list of problems...

The latest one is that after several successful attempts I can no longer access my desktop. It is throwing out the password that I have used several times.

A kind person sent me this link:

http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/resetpassword

But even following the instructions I can't get to the boot menu.

I have shut down the computer and started it again by pressing the power button while holding down the shift key. It does not go into the boot menu so that I can reset the password. It just goes into the normal log in screen.

Any other hints, please.

Nick

while entering your password be cautious of the caps lock key whether you have pressed it by mistake when you dont need it or something
