This is the file:


http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.3.1/deb/x86/LibO_3.3.1_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz

I extracted it. . now how do I install it :confused:

The readme in the archive will tell you how (in detail hopefully) to build the package. Make sure to read the dependencies and install them first.

I believe a .deb is availble for Libre now. Deb's are easier to install than .tar.gz's.

On what OS? There are ubuntu .deb's and PPA's for LibreOffice, you know....

sudo apt-get install "filename"

Note: there are instructions here (http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/01/new-ppa-makes-installing-libreoffice-on-ubuntu-easy/) to install the PPA; and LibreOffice. (for Ubuntu 10.04, 10.10 and 11.04)
