Hi,
On the link below is a command to remove Xubuntu completely, then it will reinstall Ubuntu to make sure no Ubuntu applications are missing. All you need to do is copy the long command then paste it into a terminal window.

For Ubuntu 10.04
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/puregnomelucid

For Ubuntu 10.10
http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/puregnome

Hope this helps.

Also, if you want to keep both of them, but just go back to using Gnome, and you have the hard drive space to spare, you can just install the ubuntu-desktop package and you'll be able to keep the packages and applications from xubuntu installed, while still having the default ubuntu desktop.

Did you install xubuntu parallelly before?

Try logging out, enter/click your username, and choose "GNOME" in the "Session" options at the bottom.
