Hi Everybody,

last week I had to buy a new battery for my laptop. The constant loading and rare unloading cycles while being docked seem to have killed it.

Is there a software that helps to manage loading / unloading cycles of the laptop battery while the laptop is docked? Would be interesting. Any ideas?

Thanks so far.

No, as far as I know there is no specific software since the administration of battery charging is a complicated and very individual task of communication between the guard chip in the battery and the notebook's BIOS and ACPI mechanisms.

The best solution (in my eyes) is to take off the battery once charged and working on the docking station without battery. Once per month you should work on battery until it is discharged below 10%, recharge it and take it off until it is really needed.
