Hi,

I've just installed Kubuntu 10.10 and I can't change the background colour of the panel bar along the bottom of the screen.

Please advise

Hi,
The panel appearance can be changed by installing new plasma themes. To do this, go to System Settings > Workspace Appearance > Desktop Theme. You can choose a theme from the displayed themes in the preview window, or you can click on the button below that says "Get New Themes". When that "Get New Themes" window opens, it will show you a list of themes to download and install with only one click. To apply those themes you will need to close that window, look in the theme preview window again for the theme you just downloaded, then select it, then click on apply.

Those themes are hosted at http://kde-look.org/ in the Plasma Themes category.

Thanks. That's a strange way of doing it because you have to download 20+ themes before you find one which will set the task bar the colour you want it to be, but it works.
