Hi,
Can you guys tell me if in a not too distant future this project will include SMB/CIFS, Shares, Quotas, users, groups and etc. My idea was to work with this to replace a win2000 server.
I have been looking at www.contribs.org, which does what I want, still I guess I would be better with Ubuntu.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
José

Samba (SMB) has been used in Linux for years.

YES...I know that. In Fact I am running an ubuntu server machine that is doing the NT4 job. What i am asking is that if this project will include the possibilty of doing all this stuff using just a web browser;)

Sorry buddy, you are totally off on the project. Ubuntu Center lets you access your multimedia and schedules etc. through your browser. It is NOT for configuring your ubuntu box. I suggest trying out webmin it allows you to configure everything directly from your browser.

I misunderstood. As TTT_travis points out, look into webmin. http://www.webmin.com/. You can install it via Synaptic or apt-get.

if you do use apt-get or synaptic first make sure you set a password for the root user. once installed login and goto Webmin -> Update to get the latest version. Also try out this theme http://www.stress-free.co.nz/content/view/141/2/ it makes webmin allot more purdier.
