Cannot boot on G4

I'm new ubuntu and I cannot even find out how I can post for tech support on the issue of booting from disk. I have a G4 Mirror Drive Door that is running system OSX 10.5.8 and I cannot boot from cd or dvd, is there hope, lost in New York.:popcorn:

You need a PPC version.

When starting the computer hold down the "C" key and it should boot from CD.

How much RAM have you got?
