Ubuntu 10.4, Wine 1.2, Compaq Presario C500 (no other OS). Used to be able to install from OEM CDs (Canon scanner/PhotoStudio, RC model plane sim, etc). Now get error msg that .exe file is not a zip or that there are more than one CD (not true).
This is a fresh re-install of 10.4 and Wine. When this stuff works, it's great. When it doesn't, it's useless- MS at least has lots of support available.
Any ideas?

Check the wine settings: (type winecfg in terminal or there should be a shortcut somewhere in the menu). Look at the drives settings, what points to what. Maybe wine is confused on where the CD is.
You should probably try wine1.3, it is officially beta, but it has many new features.

I used wine1.3, and it runs more smoothly then the previous version though it encounters some bugs with flash but it works!!

I had 1.3 when the problem developed and, thinking that was the source of the problem, I un-installed it and downloaded/installed 1.2.
Any Ubuntu groups or "gurus' in the Leesburg/Ocala, FL (USA), area? (I'm aware of golug.org in Winter Park and will try to make their next meeting unless I find something closer.)
