I have looked around the site a tried all the tips i could find,,, but nothing works. Its very frustrating..
I have fx tried:

startx

ctrl+alt+f7

and stop and start gbm.

My laptop is a Asus u31f, with a so called super hyprid engine
vga: intel graphies media accelerator HD

I totally new to this site. So sorry if I misplace the thread.
But please help

Most paid services don't get an answer in an hour.

I am having the same problem with PC.

what is the error message when you try to startx?

Hello,
If it is running in a terminal that means it is running in recovery mode you will have to reinstall
Yes I know it is mading:mad:

or
Reboot
or

to reboot you will have to do sudo reboot

I don't think it is in recovery mode though. I believe it is having an issue with your graphics card.

Check here for your error message after trying to startX

if he updated his computer he would have no problem with his graphic card.
If he was in GRUB and went to recovery and hold the enter key for 2 secs it would stay there.
If ubuntu had a problem recovering it self it would automatically go to recovery mode.

You are welcome to ask..

But I'm not totally sure how I fixed it, I just kept trying. but I think it was when I tried to change settings in the bios, I disabled the SHE, (super hybrid engine)
