I am very new to Ubuntu having installed the OS just a few days back. Recently while starting the OS, the system did not allowy me to login in GUI mode.
Error mesg said " Configuration defaults of GNOME Power Manager have not been installed correctly. Please contact your computed administrator".
I later reinstalled the OS and this worked fine for few days. Later on I started getting mesg about low memory (although HDD partition had 12 GB free space) and could not update any of the Ubuntu upgrades. Later on re-Logon same error is repeating.

Please guide me how to set this thing right.

There is no reason to download again.

First, let's hear about the hardware specifications.

I installing Ubuntu on a partitioned HDD (160 GB x 4 partitions). The system has pre-installed Windows XP on one of the drive. I installed Ubuntu on the other partition having 35.7 GB of free space.
System spec is INtel PEntium Dua 2 GHz with 1 GB RAM. Please suggest if any special care is needed while installing UBUNTU..
