Hello there.
I just installed Kbuntu 10.10 on one computer, and Ubuntu 10.10 on this computer.
So you might say im done with 22 years of windows....
(before windows it was dos, and barely remember making my own autoexec.bat files)
Guessing im up for a pretty painfull transition, since my a$s have grown stuck in windows.
but ive just barely managed to install new software on these two computers, and im struggeling with a old Accer Laptop.
Reason why i installed Ubuntu and Kubuntu, was that one computer didnt like ubuntu install cd, and the other computer didnt like kubuntu...
What ive seen so far, is that i like the ease of Widgets and the look of Kubuntu, but Ubuntu seems more "firm" and less playfull, but easier to find stuff.
seems like moust things work right out of the box...
(and thats good news for me)
Trying as best i can to read guides for different stuff,
but im so new to this (24 hours) i cant even find where im supposed to write commands.
Searching for stuff usually gives answers for other distros, or are for ppl who have spendt more than ONE day in linuxword.
(again, i just found my terminal where i can write commands) (erm..i think)
Since i have ubuntu on one computer, and kubuntu on another, and only think ive got running on my old Accer 3000, is suse, i need some BASIC help.
How do i easiest set up a LAN for these 3 computers? with different distros?
Primary, i have usb discs on both stationary computers, that i want accesss from the others. (music on one, and pictures on the other)
Also i have a squeezebox that only finds floppt and floppy0 under media.
im shure i have mounted the disc i have my mp3 collection on.
(probably just a small detail for some of you, but ive never seen this stuff before, and dont know what button to push)
So if someone have good guides for setting up network id be glad.
Have a Wireless network, connected to a ADSL router.
And some good guides for the basic where and what.
dunno if i posted at the correct place, but there you got both hello, who i am, and my first question.
