I am sure there are other threads with this topic, but was wondering what I can do (if anything) to make my new iPhone connect to Ubuntu. I just upgraded to 10.10, and followed the mounting instructions on Ubuntu's website and that did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Apple's security model "use it the way we want you to use it, or don't use it at all. :P"

the only way I could get my iPhone to work was to use, iTunes in virtualbox, I was able to sync/update/restore with no issues.

Please take note that you NEED a CPU with virtualization tech enable, (AMD-V, etc..) or iTunes won't work.

I downloaded the latest iTunes and ran it in Wine, with the same error message popping up. iTunes does no recognize my iPhone, and I am having trouble deleting it with Wine too.
