I am currently running Ubuntu 10.10, my problem at the moment is finding a compatible wireless USB adapter so I can connect to the internet. In the past I was running windows 7 using a wg111v2 USB adapter, this however did not work on Ubuntu. I decided to run Ubuntu in a virtual machine inside windows and I bridged my windows Internet into Ubuntu. This worked out for a week until my adapter crashed and couldn't even get a connection on windows. So now I am running Ubuntu I need at USB wireless adapter that will work straight out of the box. The less the price the better.
Hope you can help

There's a lot of info here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessCardsSupported which should be very useful to you.

I just found this post on another sight: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-usb-wireless-compatibility-adapter-list.html
It lists some tested USB wireless adapters that work with Linux. Hope this helps anyone else with compatibility issues
