I have a Samba share configured on my Ubuntu 10.04LTS system. I also have a Windows Vista box that has the Samba share permanently mapped as a network drive.

The issue I'm having is that, after an extended period of time, when I attempt to access the mounted network drive, I receive and error message that says "Z:\ is not accessible. The network name cannot be found."

If I browse the network and access my Samba share that way, I am able to re-mount the drive again. Do Samba share have a "timeout" feature that I can turn off so this network drive can be permanently mapped?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure there is no timeout period. Perhaps someone who is more expert than I am, can confirm one way or the other.

I would try to Google the Vista part of it.
