OK so i just upgraded from Ubuntu 10.04 to 10.10 . I finished downloading all the files and it did the clean up process. Than it told me to reboot which I did. So when I tried to boot it up when I restarted my computer it gave me this message (BTW it never showed the ubuntu logo it just went straight to this. It was all plain white text)

GNU Grub Version 1.98+20100804-5ubuntu3

Minimal bash-like link editing is supported. For this first word, TAB
lists possible command completions, Anywhere else TAB lists possible
device of file completions.

grub>_

Now.... I don't know what any of that means. I'm dual booting with windows vista. I've rebooted multiple times and got the same message. Vista works fine.. Although when i first rebooted into Vista it said it "couldn't boot" but it automatically fixed it self.

PLEASE HELP :( I love Ubuntu....

Hi and welcome to the forums :)

Did you install Ubuntu using Wubi?

If yes, see here for Wubi issues and solutions:

problem #2, solution #1 or #2

If you are unsure about the setup, use a LiveCD to boot the computer choosing to try not install.

Then download and run the boot info script linked at the bottom of my post (instructions included).

Post the results back here.

Thanks.
