Why upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10???

Personally, I see no pressing reason to do so.
Let me explain:
10.04 is an LTS release, meaning it has updates for the Desktop version until 2013
10.10 is new and there are still issues with it
10.04 is already 'mature,' meaning that most of the initial problems have been ironed out and it is stable
10.10 is not that different from 10.04; a few cosmetic changes, a few programs replaced or updated
Just my opinion.

Thank you for your reply.
Turns out you we're exactly right about the changes. I did a fresh install of 10.10 yesterday due to some broken packages in 10.04 that I didn't know how to fix. Otherwise I would have waited for 11.04.
I started with 8.04 & discovered I don't like doing an upgrade after not doing one for 2+ years. LOL:D
Plus you miss out on checking out the other 3 new versions.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's my motto. As long as 10.04 is working great for me, I will stick with it as long as possible.

10.10 has newer drivers. so if 10.04 is not working well then upgrade to 10.10 just might solve the problem. other than that 10.04 is the way to go.
11.04 will have plenty new features (again) instead of fixing all the old bugs. they plan to include Unity on desktop (still under development). though classic gnome stays as an option. so anyway it probably won't be as stable.
