Hi,
I'm trying to install my second wine program, thefirst went ok This is my first game and its failed.
It's EA sports Nascar Thunder 2003.
I get this error message, anyone point me in the right direction?

err:module:import_dll Library ntoskrnl.exe (which is needed by L"C:\\windows\\system32\\drivers\\SECDRV.SYS") not found

err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\windows\\system32\\drivers\\SECDRV.SYS" failed, status c00001

Is it saying it needs ntoskrl.exe, ie. NT ? it installed ok on XP....

Ta

That appears to be a copy protection scheme. You'll have to crack it most likely. Perhaps installing it in Win98 mode might change things.

Uh... A little advanced???

Try installing Cadega. It should have Secdrv.sys.
www.transgaming.com

So far Nascar Thunder is not even in the compatibility list, so I do not know if it works or not.

It would be best to stick to Quake Engine based games. Such as the Doom series (unsure about Doom3), Quake series (unsure about Quake4), Soldier of Fortune series, Elite Force series, Jedi Knight series, Nexuiz etc...

Other OpenGL games include Glest, Unreal series, Tribes 1 & 2.

DirectX support is limited, and Wine lacks the copy protection technology, to play Copy Protected games. Cadega has better support for both.

Ah, it didn't help that I got my versions of Nascar mixed up either, it seems some work but mine didn't.
As it happens I have Quake for the Win PC, so I will now try an easier one.

Looks like my first program under wine was pure good luck.
