After my week worth effort I was able to setup PPTP with freeradius authentication. The assumptions are:
Ubutnu 10.04 LTS , 8.04 will work also but setting up freeradius on 8.04 is little complicated. I documented the whole procedure which you can find by clicking the below link. Feel free to contact me if there is any question(s)

I was also able to setup radius with ldap authentication, so in my case I am using ldap account for PPTP access. I will write the whole procedure here once I got few moments

Thank you and good luck

Hi ryazkhan, I follow the lab but I only do it well 50% because my Ubuntu 10.04 works only VPN with no Radius authentication, then if I go with freeradius till the end of the lab the XP client VPN setup wizard tell me that it was wrong username/password eventhough I type them carefully. Can you help me?
