I've searched the forums and was surprised noone posted a thread about VLSI CAD before.

Does anyone know or can reccomend good VLSI design software?

I also seached the repository and found bo diddly, so any help will be welcome.

I would recommend MAGIC VLSI. I've used it for a while now and it comes with the tutorial. It is strictly for linux and tells you how to install it.
Its got great tools and such but of course the other programs cost some serious money.

Feel free to hit me up with any questions.

The link you had mentioned is dead. Could you please post some other link or installation notes of magic vlsi on ubuntu. I am using Ubuntu gutsy gibbon and I am having a compile error.
