Hi

I have suffered a minor personal setback. After i bought BF2 , i had to install micro$oft OS again. I really can't use a computer without playing games , and i could not find that many servers without punkbuster. I wanna play on Ranked official servers , but no go with wine. ](*,)

After i switched to Linux some time ago , i have dreamt about pinguins smacking them microsoft windows around in my room , and i have come to love that little penguin and my Ubuntu.

All i need is wow and BF2 to work in Linux , and my hours behind the keyboard would be happy hours not sad ones.

I got Wow to work with Wine , but suffered from bad FPS in some fights with more than 2 opponents (like the battlegrounds) and NPCs. Dungeons was a bit better though.

I need someone to drive my nightmares away and say : Here alynx , i know how to make your wow fps to rise to 50-60 like in Microsoft when playing wow. And I have personally fixed wine to play BF2 aswell

This was just a whining post , and i am sorry for that. I just needed to get it out of my system.

Great community this one , and i have always recieved the help that i wanted and more. I wont leave , i just have to play so many hours of battlefield 2 and wow that I simply can't stand the games anymore. Then im back on track ;)

Well, you can help some Wine testers (or people who'd just liek to get BF2 under Linux!) by providing data in this bug thread :)

So far, it seems someone has gotten BF2 to go load into an actual game, but with 3D stuff being funky...

for a mear $15 USD you can get it up and running with cedega no problem. They officially support it too, http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/games/view.mhtml?game_id=3618

I have guild wars and it didn't work at all on wine. So i tested it out on cedega's time demo and it worked great. So i suggest forking over the 15 for the first 3 months, cancel and play all you want.

Sure, but I don't think they have Punkbuster for BF2 working yet. At least not the last time I checked their site and that wasn't too long ago at all.

I'll give Cedega a go later on today.

I'll try Wow and BF2 on it , and if they work , I'm more than satisfied :p
I have read somewhere about the punkbuster issue , don't remember where and if it actually was a solution to it.
