Long time Windows user and total Linux newbie.

Running Ubuntu 10.04 with all the updates as of 5 minutes ago.

Have a 3ware 9500S-4LP controller card installed which the BIOS recognizes but Ubuntu seems to take absolutely no notice of.

I found drivers in zip format which indicate they support Ubuntu but all I'm seeing is folders within the extracted items for Fedora, Redhat and SUSE.

I haven't clue one on how to proceed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I will take no offense if you must explain it as you would to a 5 year old.

According to this (http://kb.lsi.com/KnowledgebaseArticle15881.aspx), there is native support for you raid card, you don't need any extra drivers. You can get the management software here (http://kb.lsi.com/KnowledgebaseArticle15753.aspx).
