there nothing wrong with windows. Its getting periodically improved. Its such a large program the masses use it because of its usability and compatability. The fact that so many people use this product proves its a decent product no doubt it couldnt be improved else why would other version be continuesly released. Linux, glisens in windows shaddow. Fair enough it might be better now, but wait till vista. It'll poop over everything. yay.

"Adam". It's a reply to a blog post of mine about being stuck in Windows (Router died, only had WinModem as backup) and not being able to do anything productive.

This fellow has clearly never heard of per-processor licensing contracts. Or the scary-cheap deals MS cuts to get OEM's hooked on their products.

Yeah, desktop operating systems tend towards being larger. And compatibility with what, precisely? Hardware made by manufacturers Microsoft bullied into producing drivers solely for Windows?

Yea ( ha ha ha ha ):) , The fact that so many people?? Well lets see, if it weren't for the fact that your freakin forced into buying it in the stores, I wouldn't think so many people would be using it...!!](*,)
In fact if you could buy a new computer from a major retailer ( without ) any OS installed on it i think people would be well for one looking for an OS that they didn't have to pay for ( the alternate OS ) like ubuntu or other linux OS's , Perhaps.?!;)

I guess Adam must really like McDonald's food and feel it cannot be improved.
I recently re-tried out Windows ME on my test computer (and got so frustrated that I couldn't get internet working--even though I had the driver for my ethernet card--that I summarily re-installed Ubuntu right back on top of it), and even though I think XP is a superb OS, people will just use whatever OS Microsoft puts out. It's not like they're all flocking to XP because it's good and stayed away from ME because it was bad. When ME was out, everyone who bought a new computer bought and used ME. Same for 95.

I suggest Adam brush up on his english grammar before he tries to make any claims where he pretends to know what he's talking about.

I suggest Adam brush up on his english grammar before he tries to make any claims where he pretends to know what he's talking about. I don't know. Even if Adam had said this instead, his credibility would still be lacking: There's nothing wrong with Windows. It's getting periodically improved. It's such a large program, and the masses use it because of its usability and compatibility. The fact that so many people use this product proves it's a decent product--no doubt it couldn't be improved; otherwise, why would other versions be continuously released. Linux, glistens in Windows' shadow. Fair enough. It might be better now, but wait till Vista. It'll poop over everything. Yay! See? Even with better grammar, the claims are unsubstantiated and almost self-contradictory (Windows continues to be improved but it cannot be improved...? Linux glistens in Windows' shadow? I kind of like glistening operating systems instead of shadowing ones... or pooping ones.

there nothing wrong with windows.
Aside from poor multi-thread handling, being bloated and a resource hog, nope, it's ok.
Its getting periodically improved.
True, but the pace of progress is painfully slow.
Its such a large program the masses use it because of its usability and compatability.
That's partially true. There are tons of drivers and software for Windows. But there is a different reason, Microsoft (more like Bill Gates) is a genius at marketting, I have to give it to them, they're good.
The fact that so many people use this product proves its a decent product
Not really, refer to the master marketting that Microsoft has.
Windows XP has become a decent product when compared to current alternatives to it, but for a company with billions of dollars in annual revenue it could do better, much better. That and Windows XP is a vast improvement when compared to the Win 9x series, but come on, those operating systems were a joke. Comparing them to XP and saying that Windows has improved is like being that kid who chronically sucks at sports and manages to get on a baseball team at his local school as an outfielder.
That and I think I can safely say (from experience and comments that I've gotten from others) that Windows 2000 is a superior product to XP, it seems that Microsoft has fumbled that one.
Linux, glisens in windows shaddow.
Someone has a wet-dream based on non-sense.
Fair enough it might be better now, but wait till vista. It'll poop over everything. yay.
I can't wait until Vista is released, it'll be bigger, fancier and hog more resources. Yay!

i believe that Adam is 100% right, and that we should all change our pc to MS right away! Also we should send an apology letter to MS HQ's begging for forgiveness stating that we are now rehabilitated...
I suddenly saw the light, the path, the way! I wil try to install MS on my laptop, desktop even on my car (it may not have a pc, but it does have a digital clock).
...what else is there to say?...
