Hi all,
Im new on this forum, coming from Solaris UNIX background. I have tried Ubuntu server and
I will start to consider migrating certain workloads for it. Couple of questions:
1. Can Ubuntu folks consider hosting all server/desktop documentation under
docs.ubuntu.com where we can easily see Desktop/Server manuals ?
2. Can we see a document about Server configuration, tuning next to Administration manual ?
Basically Im thinking here if somebody is new would like to see a simple difference between
other distros, OS and Ubuntu. Found: https://help.ubuntu.com/8.04/serverguide/C/preparing-to-install.html#id2909620
Thanks,
Stefan

thanks. I have seen them. help.ubuntu.com is anyway same thing as docs.ubuntu.com.
It might be good however to make a subcategory for each product:
- desktop
- server
As well probable worth considering, would be a place to report performance issues, problems
any other strange things related with ubuntu servers. performance forum ?
Cheers

If it's related to a bug, you can post it on launchpad. If it's a problem, you post here on the forums.
I don't see how having a seperate "docs.ubuntu.com" would make any difference. Their main site links to that area if you click on "support (http://www.ubuntu.com/support)"

Fully agree, help.ubuntu.com is same thing. However I wanted to say probable a better content under:
help.ubuntu.com:
Docs
- desktop
version
formats ... HTML, PDF, etc formats
- server
versions
formats ... HTML, PDF, etc formats
I submit these under ubuntu-docs, just to have a reference for it, later on.
Thanks,
Stefan

:D true. Software houses, ISV sometimes look deeper on the documentation part of the project in
order to plan and see how well could be to adopt the product inside their factories. I think Ubuntu server
is well maintained and has a lot of potential. Docs could be better and enhanced.
