Hey guys, looking to build a "backup server"

I have about 10tb worth of data that needs to be backed up on a daily basis. I have done some research about NIC Teaming aka link aggregation, has anyone had any experience with this with ubuntu?

Any other helpful tips when i start this project?

Hi,

Here is a nice place to start with nic teaming:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBonding

and for backup check out "how to rsync"

Uni,

In the first paragraph on that page in the introduction

I hope this will be useful for those of you out there who want to configure the bonding driver. I am not going to cover 802.3ad as i do not have a managed switch yet.

Does this mean that i DO NOT need the 802.3ad/managed switch in order to do linux bonding?
