Hi! I'm currently trying to install OpenLDAP in a 64-bit Ubuntu Server 10.04, and I trying to install it with PostgreSQL with UnixODBC (is iODBC better?) as its database. I tried several tutorials but they seem to give me errors like "Cannot contact LDAP server" or something.
The tutorials I tried so far:

"OpenLDAP-POSTGRESQL HOWTO | darold.net" (http://darold.net/projects/ldap_pg/HOWTO/index.html)
"Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx LDAP Configuration - the working how-to | albanianwizard.org" (http://albanianwizard.org/ubuntu-10-0-4-lucid-lynx-ldap-configuration-the-working-how-to.albanianwizard)
"Set up your LDAP Server on Ubuntu 10.04 | ghacks.net" (http://www.ghacks.net/2010/08/31/set-up-your-ldap-server-on-ubuntu-10-04/)

I tried installing packaged PostgreSQL, and even an EnterpriseDB package... Stil, the problems prevail. I'm at a loss here... Can anyone suggest a working guide on this specific server setup?

Also, should I pre-install any package when I'm installing Ubuntu 10.04 Server? Maybe it affects my LDAP installations.

I was a Windows user my whole life and the whole concept of Linux was alien to me just recently.
