I had asked this question here on same Forum on 9 Feb 2009 and this is Dec 12,2010 not yet resolved. Here is the link to original thread
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8588669&postcount=7

I am now using Lucid 64 bit.
at that time I was using Jaunty 32 bit.

I want to watch a live stream which is available here
http://www.shrisaibabasansthan.org/shirdilivedarshan1.htm
I installed many codecs (not sure by which command should I post the
output of all the installed codecs if any one knows let me know I will
post here)
I open Firefox or Chrome I see the thing as in the snapshot here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8588669&postcount=7
So can any one point me what codecs do I need to install so that I am
able to play the live stream?
I use Lucid 64 bit.
Following plugins are present on my firefox ( I checked about:plugins)

The URL for the video feed is mms://59.165.131.20/shirdi1

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Media_Server about mms. Movie Player (totem) should be able to do that, but it does not work whether I use that URL or http://59.165.131.20:554/shirdi1

Does the link you posted work in Windows?
